Proud Patron of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce
In 2011, Dollar UK’s The Money Shop business joined the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce as a patron. It was the chamber’s first patron operating in the financial services sector.

The Chamber’s Patron scheme is aimed at businesses that want to take a leading role in the local business community.

Via the Chamber, the aim is for businesses like The Money Shop to be a powerful force in influencing policies, driving economic growth and development and equipping smaller businesses with the knowledge and skills that are vital to their future success.

Recently, Dollar UK invested £120,000 into the local area of Derby by refurbishing it’s The Money Shop store, located on The Spot, which Jean Mountain – President of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce – helped to officially open by cutting the ribbon at the ceremony.

Dollar UK Sponsors Prestigious Awards For Second Year Running

Dollar UK is proud to have sponsored the Women in the Public Service Award at the 2016 Nottingham Post Women in Business Awards.

These prestigious awards celebrate the incredible achievements of women in the business world, as well as creating role models for future generations of women in business. As a Nottingham based company, Dollar UK wanted to recognise the contribution made to the local community by women working within the public sector, and help inspire others to make a difference in their careers.

The winners were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham on Wednesday 23rd November, and the winner of the Women in Public Service Award was Inspector Gurmit Kaur MBE, Nottinghamshire Police.

Caroline Walton, Chief Customer Insight Officer at Dollar UK said;

  “We were incredibly honoured to be sponsoring the Women in Public Service Award this year. Being based in Nottingham ourselves, we see the invaluable contribution of these women.”

“Without their commitment, the local services that we all rely on could not deliver such high standards. “

“As an equal opportunities employer, we were delighted to be able to celebrate the female workforce in Nottingham.  We believe it is important to recognise excellence through awards such as these.”

“On behalf of Dollar UK, I would like to congratulate Gurmit Kaur’s brilliant achievement – she thoroughly deserves recognition for the great work that she does within the area.”

New Business Woman of the Year award at the Enterprising Women Awards 2017

The Money Shop was proud to sponsor the New Business Woman of the Year award at the Enterprising Women Awards 2017.  As a patron of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, a provider of financial services across the region, and an equal opportunities employer, The Money Shop and its parent company Dollar UK are always delighted to recognise the contribution that talented and inspiring women make to businesses across the East Midlands.

The New Business Woman of the Year award is an excellent opportunity to publicly applaud those women who are new to business and already making a significant impact in their industry, on their colleagues and the wider community, and have very bright futures. Our Chief Customer Insight Officer, Caroline Walton,  had the honour of presenting this year’s award to Mital Thanki, Founder and CEO of Spark Academy – a tailored mentoring service that complements school learning.
